The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has intensified its mobilisation ahead of its September 21 concert, as media stakeholders and political supporters gathered in Jericho, Ibadan, to strengthen collaboration and discuss strategies for advancing the party’s political activities.

The meeting brought together representatives of different media teams and political movements, with participants emphasising the importance of unity, peace, commitment and effective media mobilisation in supporting the party’s activities.

Discussions at the meeting also focused on the participation of media teams associated with different political movements. The media team linked to Bayo Adelabu was represented, while references were also made to Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi and the APM.

According to the organisers, the meeting was convened as part of efforts to ensure the success of the September 21 APM concert and build a stronger working relationship among the various stakeholders involved in the party’s mobilisation efforts.

Speaking at the gathering, Babatunde Saheed, popularly known as Mr Sport, built on the earlier remarks by Omiyale, who opened the session, identifying commitment and hope as important qualities needed by members of the movement.
Saheed stressed that sustained commitment would be necessary for the party and its supporters to achieve their political objectives and record positive results in future elections.
He explained that the concert was also designed to strengthen the relationship between media teams supporting the BoyeNation/Adelabu movement and those associated with the Bimbo Adekanmbi/APM movement.
“The concert is intended to strengthen the relationship between the different media teams and create a stronger platform for collaboration,” Saheed said.
According to him, the broader objective was to promote unity, hope and peaceful engagement among new media practitioners, government and citizens.
In his remarks, Ademola Adeeyo, popularly known as Baba Alarojinle, expressed confidence in Hon. Ajibode Akande, popularly known as Boye, describing him as a passionate and versatile individual who had positively impacted the lives of many people irrespective of their political affiliations.
He urged APM members to recognise and work with members of the BoyeNation media team, stressing that collective efforts would be important to advancing the party’s political interests.
“We must recognise one another and work together. Our collective effort is what will make the difference,” Adeeyo said.
He also encouraged members to remain confident in their political direction and continue working towards achieving the objectives of the movement.
The meeting further focused on the BoyeNation and Jaff movements, with participants stressing that the initiative went beyond the September 21 concert.
According to the speakers, the media component of the movement would involve participants in promoting the governorship and presidential elections, with the objective of increasing the visibility of the movement and its activities across different states of the country.
One of the speakers described the task ahead as challenging but noted that the movement would provide an open platform for developers and individuals with relevant skills to contribute to its media and mobilisation objectives.
The Arewa Coordinator for Oyo State, Hon. Yasinri Babangoye, was also identified among the coordinators of the movement who had recently joined the APM.
Babangoye urged other members to remain committed to the party and work towards promoting the APM governorship candidate.
A member of the group also called on programme presenters to create opportunities for party members to participate in their programmes, saying such inclusion would promote understanding and provide a platform for wider engagement with the party and its activities.
Similarly, Alhaji Oyewole Raji urged media practitioners to remain politically engaged while maintaining fairness and responsibility in their public communication.
Raji cautioned against spreading negativity and urged practitioners to promote constructive information that would serve the public interest and contribute to peaceful political engagement.
“While we remain committed to our political interests, our communication must be responsible. We should avoid negativity and promote information that will benefit the public,” Raji said.
The meeting ended with renewed calls for commitment, unity, peaceful collaboration and effective media mobilisation ahead of the September 21 APM concert and the party’s broader political activities.
Participants described the emerging relationship between the BoyeNation movement and the APM as an opportunity to build a stronger political and media network capable of supporting the party’s candidates and programmes.
They stressed that achieving the objectives of the movement would require professionalism, adequate financial support and sustained political commitment from all stakeholders.
Meanwhile, Honorable Michael Ogunshina, the APM spokesperson reiterated that the meeting was primarily aimed at creating an additional committee with a major focus on media coordination.
Ogunshina noted that everyone present at the meeting had been factored into the proposed budget, which he said was yet to be approved by the party’s governorship candidate.
