A bill for a Law to provide for the establishment of Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority has been passed into law by the State House of Assembly.

The bill was passed on Tuesday after a clause by clause consideration of the report of the Joint House Committee on Public Petitions, Justice and Judiciary and Special Duties which was read by Hon. Abideen Adéòye Ogundare (Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere).

To ensure an all embracing and encompassing bill, the joint committees met with stakeholders in the Environment and Natural Resources, Agriculture and Rural Development, Justice, Public Works and Transport and Traffic Road Management Authority

The Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority Bill is meant to oversee and enforce the provisions of Oyo State Laws relating to health and environmental sanitation standards, traffic, anti-grazing and other related matters.

” The report reads in part – ” The Function and Power of Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority is to oversee Oyo State Environmental Protection Agency Laws, Environmental (Sanitation and Waste Control) Regulations, Road Traffic Laws, Oyo State Open Rearing and Grazing Regulations Law and Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority Law”
