The Budget Performance Reports of Oyo State for first and second quarters of this year presented today, Wednesday 5th August, 2026 has been described as timely. This remark was made by the President of Multidisciplinary Finance Professionals, MFP Global Services, Dr Prince Oyebade Oyedepo, FCA, JP when he was giving his goodwill message at the event held at Local Government Staff Training School, Secretariat, Ibadan.

According to him, it is not only important for budget performance reports to be presented, it must be timely to be useful and relevant.
The MFP top-brass mentioned that the processes embarked upon by Oyo State Government starting with the stakeholders’ town hall meetings to this present moment of implementation/performance reports are wonderful and of international standards.

Oyebade lauded the State Government for carrying out training of all MDAs on application of national charts of accounts, Medium Term Sector Strategy (MTSS) and Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).

He equally applauded the State Government for leveraging on technology and making use of professionals particularly Chartered Accountants in the civil service and appointive positions. In his words, “leveraging on technology and making use of professionals is one of the reasons why Oyo State Government is achieving milestone in governance, we encourage you not to renege in it”

The erudite finance professional mentioned that budget performance report being carried out by Oyo State Government is a way of ensuring transparency and accountability in government; therefore, he encouraged other State Governments to emulate what is done here.

Oyebade enjoined the State Government to continue in this direction for the betterment of all and sundry.
