Following the recent political development in the country and National Politics, especially regarding the coalition of some groups to another party (ADC), it becomes imperative to clarify the position of the PDP in Oyo Federal Constituency.
We wish to express unequivocally, without any reservation, that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) structures in Oyo Federal Constituency across Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East & Oyo West Local Governments remain loyal, focused, unshaken and committed to the ideology of the PDP.
According to the Four Party Chairmen of Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East & Oyo West Local Governments; Governor Seyi Makinde’s Liaison Officer, Hon Ilyas Akin Alawode and the South West Exco Member, Hon Azeez Tiramisiyu Ojetunde, who signed the Press Release on behalf of all the Stakeholders, Exco Members and faithful Party members of the Federal Constituency, the PDP in Oyo Federal Constituency is rock solid and firmly behind His Excellency, Governor Oluwaseyi Makinde as the leader.
They describe the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde as unmatched, unequalled, and unprecedented in terms of masses oriented programmes, infrastructure development, rejigging of educational, health, socio – economic and security sectors, among others, to enviable topmost levels. These are in addition to boosting of Internal Generated Revenue, Tourism and cultural advancement, welfare of Party members and above all, taking the governance of Oyo State from Poverty to Prosperity.
To the people of Oyo Federal Constituency, Governor Seyi Makinde is a worthy Leader whose political leadership is enviable and exemplary. He is indeed a leader with tour de force in administration and governance. We therefore have no cause to abandon our ever – performing and kind hearted Governor at this crucial moment or any period.
PDP is proud of its committed, respected and vibrant leaders across Oyo Federal Constituency, who are, indeed, the pillars of the structures of our Party, PDP. The likes of Chief Sunday Ogunlade and Hon Kayode Adio of Afijio; Senator Monsurat Sunmonu and Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka of Oyo East; Rt. Hon. Atilola Maroof Olawale and Alhaji Isiaka Adebayo of Oyo West; Barrister Idowu Oyeleke and Alhaji Quadri Olatunji of Atiba Local Government, and other prominent elders/leaders, too numerous to mention, are holding the Party structures firmly and dutifully. They leave no stone unturned to ensure that the hundreds of followers in their various groups and other faithful Party members remain united behind the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde and the State Leadership of the PDP.
On this note, we condemn in strong terms, unfounded and misleading news/rumours going round that the PDP structures in Oyo Federal Constituency has deflected to ADC. It is baseless information, which could not distract our attention from our unbridled loyalty and commitment to the PDP and Governor Seyi Makinde.
