Oyo Government Assures Residents of Improved Water Quality

The successes being recorded by the administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde have been attributed to its commitment to listening to the needs and aspirations of residents across the state.

This was stated by the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation, Hon. Elias Adeojo, during an audit visit by the Corporation’s management team to the Eleyele Water Supply Scheme.

According to him, the Corporation has intensified efforts to improve water quality following complaints from consumers in the Eleyele axis, Adamasingba, and Sango areas concerning the discoloration of water supplied to them.

Hon. Adeojo explained that although the water is safe, free from germs and harmful particles, it requires proper settling before consumption. He noted that the current method of pumping water directly from the sedimentation tanks contributes to its temporary coloration, but does not pose any health risk.

He assured residents of the Corporation’s commitment to delivering safe and potable water at all times, adding that measures are already underway to ensure water is adequately settled before being distributed to the public.
