The Oyo State Government has intensified efforts to provide potable water to residents of Ibadan metropolis by resuscitating and improving services at the Eleyele Water Supply Scheme of the Water Corporation of Oyo State.

This was contained in a statement from the Office of the Executive Chairman of the Corporation, Hon. Elias Adeojo.

According to the statement, residents of Bello Street, Eleyele; Eleyele Baptist Church; Eleyele Road via Sango; Alesinloye environs; as well as parts of Mokola have begun to enjoy improved water supply from the Corporation.

The areas now benefiting from the service are in addition to earlier successes recorded in Letmuck Barracks and Adamasingba Stadium.

The statement further explained that the Eleyele Water Supply Scheme is among the facilities currently receiving special attention from the Oyo State Government to ensure optimal performance and improved service delivery.

It noted that the progress recorded at the scheme has been made possible through the support of the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.

Hon. Adeojo also disclosed that power supply to the scheme has recently been upgraded to Band “A” in collaboration with the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), a move aimed at enhancing water supply to residents around the Eleyele axis and other service providers within Ibadan.
