The Oyo State Government is determined to ensure that the quality of ongoing projects in the state meets the required standards.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency, Engineer Muftau Open Salawu, made the statement while inspecting a section of the ongoing circular road project, which is expected to enhance Ibadan’s economic potential and improve traffic flow in the city.

During the inspection tour, Open Salawu drove through the 15km span of the 31.7km circular road being handled by Kopek construction company and another company.

He examined the quality of the earth work, concrete work, and about 10 culverts along the span, noting the engineering expertise evident in the conception of the project.

Open Salawu stated that when completed, the circular road will be a significant investment attraction for foreign and local investors, further easing the process of doing business in Oyo State.

The state project performance monitoring agency chairman underscored the importance of project inspections in maintaining adherence to rules, regulations, timelines, and budgets.

He praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s approach to the projects, emphasizing Makinde’s engineering background and the direct impact the projects will have on communities in the state.

According to him, the circular road is one of the flagship projects of the Makinde administration, designed to boost Ibadan’s economic potential and improve traffic flow.

He said: “The quality of our projects is a reflection of our commitment to the people of Oyo State. We will not compromise on quality, no matter the cost.”

“The circular road will be a game-changer for Ibadan and Oyo State. It will open up opportunities for investors and improve the lives of our people.”

“As an engineer myself, I can see the quality of work that has gone into this project,” he noted.
