Oyo State Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists under the leadership of Pharmacist Sheriff Adebayo paid a congratulatory and courtesy visit to the new Chairman of the Oyo State Hospital Management Board Dr. Stephen Akin Fagbemi in his office on Tuesday 11th June 2024.
The team was led into the office of the Chairman by the Director of Pharmaceutical services of the Board, Pharm Ganiyu Abideen Adedayo.
The team congratulated Mogaji Akin Fagbemi on the well-deserved appointment and also lauded the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for choosing the caliber of a person who has a combined experience of civil service and headship of a big Government Agency having spent close to 20 years in NAFDAC and his recent exploits when he held sway as OYTRIMA Chairman.
The OSAHAP Chairman submitted that the Hospital Management Board will greatly benefit from his vast experience and exposure due to his passion for quality and excellence.
In his response, Dr Akin Fagbemi assured the team that he would be a Chairman for all health professional cadres and be fair to all. He assured that all legitimate demands of health workers should be brought to his table and he will try his best to get the best outcome. He admonished the team to be civil and moderate in their demands and agitation any time there was a need for such. They should endeavor to reciprocate the good gesture of the Seyi Makinde-led Government which has prioritized the welfare of civil servants above all other things. We should recall that he has made it a duty to pay the salaries of public servants on or before the 25th of every month since he came on board. He has been paying the thirteen-month salary without a break and he went ahead despite the impending increase in wage bill expected from the imminent new National minimum wage to approve the recruitment of a new set of health workers across all cadres.
The Chairman promised an open door policy and he will make himself available for consultation and ideas that will move the Government forward, especially the Oyo State Hospital management board.
The Chairman was presented with a beautiful roll-up banner as a mark of honor.
The team that paid a visit to the Chairman included Pharmacist Ganiyu Abideen (D. Pharm ) Pharmacist Opeodu-Adegbite Omotoke (Treasurer), Pharmacist Adebayo Sheriff (Chairman), Pharmacist Adeleye Ololade (Secretary ) and Pharmacist Hameed Morzooq (PRO).
