The Oyo State Housing Corporation has honoured three members of staff for their exceptional performance and dedication to duty, reaffirming its commitment to rewarding excellence, promoting professionalism and boosting staff morale through a newly introduced biannual recognition scheme.
The award ceremony, held under the leadership of the Chairman of the Corporation, Hon. Ademola Omotoso, saw Mr. Ogunjimi Adekunle, Mrs. Deborah Odedina and Mr. Samuel Owadara recognised for their outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the corporation.
Speaking at the event, Omotoso said the initiative was conceived by the Board and Management to encourage hard work, inspire greater commitment among employees and improve service delivery across the corporation.
According to him, rewarding outstanding performance is essential to building a productive workforce capable of delivering on the corporation’s mandate of providing quality housing solutions for the people of Oyo State.
”The essence of this initiative is to boost the morale of our staff, motivate them to give their best and encourage greater dedication to duty. We believe that when excellence is recognised and rewarded, it inspires others to raise their standards and contributes to the overall growth of the corporation,” Omotoso said.
The chairman explained that the selection of the award recipients was handled by an independent committee constituted specifically for the exercise, stressing that members of the board and management neither influenced nor interfered with the process.
He noted that while all members of staff have continued to contribute to the progress of the corporation, the award was designed to recognise exceptional commitment and encourage healthy competition among employees.
Omotoso urged workers to remain diligent, disciplined and committed to excellence, adding that every effort made towards advancing the corporation would always be appreciated and duly recognised.
He further disclosed that the staff recognition programme would be conducted twice every year as part of the board’s broader strategy to institutionalise excellence, professionalism and accountability within the corporation.
The chairman also assured employees that the plots of land earlier promised by the board as part of the staff welfare package would soon be allocated, revealing that work was already at an advanced stage to ensure the sites are properly prepared before allocation.
According to him, the corporation is putting in place the necessary infrastructure, including access roads and well-planned layouts, to ensure beneficiaries receive plots in a conducive and well-organised environment.
”We remain committed to fulfilling our promise to members of staff. The allocation of the plots of land will commence as soon as the necessary infrastructure, including access roads and proper layouts, is completed. This is part of our commitment to improving staff welfare and rewarding dedication,” he added.
Speaking on behalf of the award recipients, Mr. Ogunjimi Adekunle expressed gratitude to the Board and Management for the recognition, describing the award as a great honour and a source of motivation.
He said the recognition would inspire not only the awardees but other members of staff to remain committed to excellence and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.
”This honour means a lot to us because it shows that hard work does not go unnoticed. We sincerely appreciate the Board and Management for this recognition, and we pledge to remain committed to the vision of the corporation by continuing to give our best in the discharge of our duties,” Ogunjimi said.
He assured the management that the awardees would continue to uphold the values of diligence, integrity and teamwork while contributing meaningfully to the corporation’s continued growth and success.
