    Oyo Pledges Support for Anti-Corruption Agencies in Pursuit of Justice

    The Oyo State government has expressed its readiness to collaborate and assist relevant anti -corruption agencies in achieving their statutory functions

    The Oyo State acting Governor, Bayo-Lawal made the promise while receiving the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC,, Dr Musa Aliyu SAN, who paid a condolences visit to the state on the demise of the former ICPC Chairman, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, who died recently.

    Lawal, described late, Justice Ayoola as an outstanding indigene of the state who contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Country and the commission through his dedication, and hard work.

    While congratulating Dr Musa Aliyu on his appointment as the new chairman of the commission, the Acting Governor expressed confidence in his capacity to follow the footsteps of the justice Ayoola and rid off the country of corrupt practices.

    Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the ICPC, also described the late Ayoola as one of the best legal practitioners the country ever had, noting that as the second chairman of ICPC he was outstanding with the responsibility he was saddled with.

    Dr Aliyu however pledged that the commission would continue to build on the foundation laid by Justice Ayoola and ensure that the image of the commission is always protected.

    A letter of condolences was later presented to the state government.

    In attendance were the State commissioner for Information and Orientation Prince Dotun Oyelade, the state commissioner for justice Mr Biodun Aikomo, and the Executive Assistant to the governor on security, CP Sunday Odukoya ( RTD).
