The Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), Alhaji Wasiu Tomiwa Omolewa, popularly known as Tommy, has warned all members of the union against participating in the planned nationwide protest of August 1.

In a notice of warning issued to all membes of the union, Omolewa acknowledged the challenging economic situation in the country and the efforts by the government to alleviate the effects.

However, he emphasized that as employees of the Oyo State Government, members of the Oyo State PMS are prohibited from participating in any form of protest.

“We understand the current hard state of the economy of the country and the government are working hard to cushion its effects as well as turn the situation around for good.”

“But remember, the members of Oyo State Park Management System are employees of the Oyo State Government. This hereby, nullifies us from participating in any form of protest,” the notice stated.

Omolewa warned that any member found participating or marching in a protest against the government would be in violation of the ethics that set up the organization, which could result in dismissal.

“Hence, any member found participating or marching along in a protest against the government is in violation of the ethics that set up this Organization, which is tantamount to dismissal,” the notice further cautioned.

The Oyo PMS Chairman urged the elected officials and the federal government to consider the concerns and outcry of the masses, adding, “May God ease the affairs of our nation.”
