Oyo Police Command Launch Campaign Against Cultism, Other Vices

….releases two jingles for sensitization of the general public

Oyo State Police Command Headquarters Eleyele Ibadan, has on Tuesday announced the launched of campaign against activities of the cultists in the State and Nigeria as a whole, and also declared two sensitization jingles to the effect.

The State Commissioner of Police Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu through a Press Release said that the Police Campaign Against Cultism and other Vices(POCACOV) is an initiative of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu.

The Press Release which was issued and signed through the office of the State Police Public Relation Officer SP. Olugbenga Fadeyi, which a copy was made available to Independent in Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State, qouted CP. Enwonwu as thus:

The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP. Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, psc wishes to sensitize the general public on Police Campaign Against Cultism and other Vices (POCACOV) which is an initiative of the present Inspector General of Police, IGP. Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, NPM, mni which was unveiled on 13th August, 2015 during his tenure as the Enugu State Commissioner of Police.

The CP. stated further that the campaign is aimed at saving Nigerian Youths from the claws of cultism and other vices, making our environment safe and secured in line with the tenets of community oriented policing.

Furthermore, relevant stake holders, the media, corporate organizations, Political class, Student union bodies, town union leaders, faith based organizations, post primary school management board, ministry of youth and sports, Labour Union and Trade Union bodies, Artisans, Women and market unions, sister security agencies, men of the new media, neighborhood watch groups amongst others are implored to be part of the IGP’s initiatives.

Consequent upon this, two new jingles on the sensitization of the general public has been released and attached for the media houses to use from time to time to enlighten the general public. The statement concluded.
