Oyo REC Seeks Hon Alawode’s Support for Renovation of INEC Office in Ibadan Southeast LG

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Oluwole Alawode, on Wednesday, 14th December 2026, received the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State, Prof. Adeniran Abdulramon Tella, on a courtesy visit to the Council Secretariat, Mapo Hill, Ibadan.



 

During the visit, Prof. Tella commended Hon. Alawode for his visionary and people-centered leadership, describing him as a grassroots-oriented leader whose time as ALGON Chairman recorded unprecedented achievements.

He prayed for God’s continued guidance for the Chairman in his leadership journey.

He emphasized that his dedication to transparency, humility, and honesty has continued to pave the way for him as the Residential Electoral Commissioner for the state, assuring that INEC under his watch will remain unbiased and professional.

Prof. Tella humbly appealed for the Council’s support in renovating the Ibadan South East Local Government INEC office.

In his response, Hon. Alawode expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for his integrity, professionalism, and commitment to credible elections. He acknowledged the hard work of the INEC officials in the local government and assured the Commission of his support, especially concerning the renovation request.

Also speaking, the HLGA, Dr. Agnes Olakunbi Ojo, appreciated the Commissioner and his team, prayed for peaceful upcoming elections, and pledged the management’s cooperation in all electoral matters.

The Director of Education and Social Services, Mrs. Victoria Modupe Orotoye, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing the Council’s gratitude for the Commissioner’s visit.

Other dignitaries present included Leader of the Legislative House and Chairman, Oyo State Speakers Forum, Hon. Ayodeji Oladepo, HOD Operations, INEC Oyo, Alhaji Samsondeen Akinyemi, HOD Voter Education & Publicity, INEC Oyo, Mr. Adeagbo Taliat and many others.
