Oyo SDG Takes ‘Needs Assessment’ to Ibadan South West, South East LG, LCDA
Residents of Ibadan South West, South East Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas have commended Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, Hon Kunle Yusuff MON, for engaging different communities on the ‘Needs Assessment for the Sustainable Development Goals 2020 Application package.
Speaking at the town hall meeting held separately at Ibadan South West secretariat, Aleshinloye and Ibadan South East secretariat, Mapo, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on SDG, Hon Kunle Yusuff said this initiative is in line with Makinde’s Road Map to Accelerated Development 2019 to 2023.
He noted that this approach will be helpful in bridging the gap between the present administration and the people at the grassroots.
Hon Yusuff stressed that the era where the needs of different communities were misplaced and not priorities no longer exist since the present administration has the political will to bring dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
In their separate remarks, the caretaker chairmen of Ibadan South West and Ibadan West LCDA, Hon Kehinde Akande and Tajudeen Adigun said the present administration knows the plight of the people at the grassroots enhance the need for the interactive session.
They lauded Governor Makinde and Hon Yusuff for setting the pace for good governance in the state. They assured residents of their different councils that all their needs within the purview of SDG will be implemented without further procrastination.
On his part, the caretaker chairman, Ibadan South East Hon Emmanuel Alawode assured all the community leaders that this assessment would have remarkable impacts on each community unlike what was obtainable in the previous administrations.
Present at the events were: Staff of Oyo State SDG, Head of Local Government Administration, representative of women association, market leaders, community leaders, Youth association, Community Development Centre, party leaders, representative of the handicap among others.
