Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority Becomes Operational As Makinde Appoints Aderemi as Chairman

 

Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has signed into law a bill passed by the state house of assembly establishing the rule of Law enforcement Authority.

The Governor who also announced the appointment of Justice Adereonke Aderemi rtd, as the new Chairman of the enforcement Authority, appealed to the people of the state to be law abiding.

Speaking at the event, Governor Seyi Makinde who maintained that several laws made in the state in the past four years are yet to be enforced, noted that some law breakers in the state are still fond of driving against traffic, street trading, and dumping refuse on the road median.

The Governor who expressed his displeasure over uncivil behavior of some citizens, said it’s high time an enforcement authority that would be saddled with the responsibility of dispensing on the spot justice to recalcitrant citizens was established.

While announcing Retired Justice Aderonke Aderemi as the new Chairman of the enforcement Authority, Governor Makinde sought for the cooperation of the people of the state in creating an enabling environment that would be friendly for the investors to do their businesses.

Presenting the bill earlier, the Speaker State House of Assembly, rt Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin represented by the Deputy Speaker, Honourable Mohammed Fadeyi, explained that, the bill went through a thorough process before the law makers produced a working document for signing.

The event had in attendance the deputy Governor Barrister Bayo-Lawal, the Secretary to the state government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, The Head of Service Mrs Olubunmi Oni, Commissioners and other Political appointees.
