Less than 14 days after rehabilitating a 2km Olodo-Elesingodogbo road in Lagelu local government area of Ibadan, the Oyo state chairman, Union of Tippers And Quarry Employers Of Nigeria (UTQEN) has commenced grading of Edun-Ajiwogbo in Ibadan.
Oyo state chairman of UTQEN, Alhaji Yekeen Adewale, while speaking with journalists shortly after leaving the grading site on Tuesday, explained that there were several requests by some motorists and commercial bus operators along the axis to UTQEN for help because of the amount of damaged done to their vehicles while commuting on the road.
Sunrisebulletin.com earlier reported that Alhaji Yekeen Adewale had rehabilitated a 2kilometres Olodo-Elesingodogbo road in Lagelu local government penultimate week.
Oluaye as he is popularly called maintained that the ongoing road grading along Edun to Ajiwogbo road between Lagelu and Egbeda is almost 5kilometres will terminate at Ajiwogbo, the paternal home village of Akin Alabi, the federal lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency at the National Assembly.
Oluaye said: “if everyone would fold arms and wait till government fix all the many challenges of road infrastructural deficits in the state, it may take longer because government has its priorities too and may not be able to do everything within the duration of its tenure.”
He noted that government is continuum and the present government like its predecessors will never be able to solve all the problems within the period of its tenure.
He berated private firms and industries across making money in Oyo state for not doing enough in term of corporate social responsibility, stressing that a little contribution here and there by different private firms could make a whole big difference as a whole in term of relief on the burden shouldered by government.
Alhaji Yekeen however expressed gratitude to the President of Ibadan Ajorosun Club, Honourable Sanda, for freely providing the grader to UTQEN as a show of support to its community development activities across the state.
Oluaye however appealed to corporate organizations and other agencies doing businesses and making money from Oyo state to support the present government under the leadership of governor Seyi Makinde stressing that Makinde has redefined the face of governance and the least anyone or organization could do is to show support.
