The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi has on behalf of men and Officers of the Authority expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for deeming the agency worthy to benefit from the COVID-19 relieve packages distributed in the State.

In a statement issued during the distribution at the Authority’s Administrative Headquarters, Ibadan, Dr. Fagbemi stated that “I want to seize this opportunity to thank our amiable and people-loving Governor for the tremendous incentives he has approved for our officers in the recent past including Responsibility Allowance, Hazard Allowance and other mouth-watery emoluments which truly has successfully spurred our men and Officers to giving there all in ensuring the free flow of human and vehicular traffic across the 33LGAs of the State”.

He further said, “be that as it may, the recent release of these huge palliatives for the benefit of our men and officers by the Executive Governor further underscore his Excellency’s love for the progress of our dear State and on behalf of all men and officers of the Authority, I thank and greatly appreciate the Governor. I must however reiterate to the officers that to whom so much is given, so much more is expected. I hereby charge you all to double efforts in ensuring the actualization of our core mandate of maintaining sanity and gridlock-free roads in the State whilst giving high regards to our statutory rules of engagement and the principles of fairness and justice in the discharge of our respective duties in both the previously existing three (3) Zonal Commands and the newly established Thirty-three (33) Zonal Commands”.

The OYRTMA Boss went further; “you must be seen at all times to present the government in good light particularly at his critical period that any faceoff with the public is often attributed to OYRTMA because of our close proximity to the people and the good name we have built over the years”, he concluded.

The COVID-19 palliative items has since been distributed to over Two Hundred and Twenty-Five (225) men and officers of the Authority amidst laughter, joy and a sense of inclusion.
