OYRTMA to collaborate leading transportation institute in Nigeria on human capital development

……As Fagbemi commends Makinde’s commitment to transportation infrastructure in Oyo

The Executive Chairman Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), Mogaji Akin Fagbemi has eulogised the state Governor, Seyi Makinde for his commitment and vision towards developing economic status of the state through the provision of transportation infrastructure.

Fagbemi made the remarks on Tuesday in Abuja at a two-day “National Conference on Transportation Infrastructure Development Financing in Nigeria” held at Yara’dua Conference Centre, Abuja.

He lauded Governor Makinde for his kind approval  for the agency to attend the conference. He assured the gathering that he would leave no stone unturned in the area of coordination of transportation system and management of Traffic  in the state.

The OYRTMA boss promised to collaborate with the organizer of the conference in the area of human and capital development of the staff of the agency.

However, the Conference was organised by a leading transportation institute in the country, “Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Zaira.”

The essence of the Conference which will be rounded off on Wednesday is to tap into alternative sources of funding Transportation Infrastructure in Nigeria as well as to link all the Transportation System together, Air, Sea, Rail and Road for easy access by all. ( although road covers more than 75% in all).

Guest speakers at the conference include,  Hon. Minister of Works and  Housing, Raji Fasola, Hon. Minister for Finance, Budget and  National Planning, Ahmed Zainab, Hon. Minister of State for Transportation, Hon. Gbemisola Saraki, Gov. Babajide Sanwo Olu, Scholars from some Universities, Director -Generals , Mogaji (Dr) Akin Fagbemi), Captain of Industries, among others.

It’s pertinent to state here that among all the State traffic management agencies across the federation, its only “OYRTMA” that was given the opportunity to attend the conference with her sister agency (FRSC).
