In a significant gathering held during the weekly Ibadan North meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Lanre Sarumi, the PDP candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, addressed party members and reaffirmed his commitment to the party and its leadership. The meeting, attended by key figures including Hon. Seun Olufade, the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, served as a platform for Sarumi to express his gratitude and motivate members ahead of upcoming elections.

During his address, Hon. Sarumi extended heartfelt thanks to party members for their unwavering loyalty to both the PDP and the government led by Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State. He acknowledged the dedication of party members, emphasizing the importance of unity and resilience as they navigate the political landscape. Sarumi encouraged attendees to remain steadfast in their efforts to keep the PDP a formidable force in future elections, promising his continuous support and loyalty to the cause.

Hon. Seun Olufade also took the opportunity to commend the party members for their dedication and commitment.

He urged them to work diligently towards ensuring victory in the forthcoming by-election, reinforcing the sentiment of solidarity and determination shared among the members. The message resonated strongly, as party unity is crucial in maintaining their political strength in the region.

In a generous move to bolster morale, Hon. Sarumi announced a total financial support of 2.8 million naira to party members. This included 1.8 million naira for general party members, alongside 100,000 naira for the executive committee and 200,000 naira for party leaders. This significant gesture was met with excitement and appreciation, particularly given the current economic challenges facing many in the community.

Members expressed their gratitude to Hon. Sarumi for his timely support, highlighting the impact of his generosity during this critical economic period.

The meeting concluded on a high note, with renewed enthusiasm and commitment from party members to ensure the PDP remains a powerful contender in future elections.

Hon. Sarumi’s leadership and proactive approach have undoubtedly left a lasting impression on the Ibadan North PDP, setting a positive tone for the electoral battles ahead.
