The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, has congratulated His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja on the successful conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention, describing the event as a historic testament to unity, leadership, and renewed commitment within the party.

In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, Hon. Sanda praised Governor Makinde for providing what he called *“visionary guidance and steady hands”* that ensured the smooth, peaceful, and highly organised convention hosted in Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to him, the success of the convention is a reflection of Governor Makinde’s strong political will, administrative competence, and unmatched dedication to strengthening internal democracy within the PDP.

“Our governor has once again demonstrated that leadership is not about occupying an office, but about delivering excellence with integrity and focus,” Sanda said. “The world witnessed a convention that was peaceful, inclusive, and strategically important for the future of our great party.”

Hon. Sanda also extended hearty congratulations to Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja on his emergence as the National Secretary of the PDP, describing the victory as “well-deserved and a proud moment for Oyo State.”

He noted that Ambassador Arapaja’s long-standing record of service, loyalty, and bridge-building within the party positions him perfectly to deliver in his new role. “Ambassador Arapaja embodies experience, humility, and proven competence,” Sanda stated. “His emergence further strengthens the South-West bloc and reinforces Oyo State’s rising influence within the national structure of our party.”

Hon. Sanda reaffirmed Egbeda Local Government’s support for the Makinde-led administration and the new national leadership of the PDP, expressing optimism that the outcome of the convention would energise members across all levels ahead of future electoral engagements.

He called on party faithful to remain united, focused, and committed to the collective progress of the PDP.
