The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has congratulated the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for what he described as an extraordinary, flawless and historic hosting of the 2025 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention in Ibadan.
In a statement made available through his head of media, Aderibigbe Yisahu, Hon. Olufade said Governor Makinde has once again demonstrated exceptional leadership, remarkable organisational capacity, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of the PDP, noting that the successful convention was a testament to the Governor’s steady hands, strategic mind, and deep love for the party.
According to him, Ibadan did not just host a convention, it hosted a model of political excellence under Makinde’s guidance.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has proven beyond every doubt that he is the mentor, leader and stabilising force that our party and nation have clamoured for over the years,” Olufade said.
“His genuine love for the PDP, his dedication to unity, and his capacity to lead with humility and vision were clearly on display throughout this historic convention.
We are proud of him, and Oyo State is blessed to have him.”
Hon. Olufade further congratulated the newly elected National Chairman of the PDP, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, describing him as a seasoned statesman, a legal icon, and a committed party man whose emergence signals renewed hope and direction for the party.
He expressed confidence in the new chairman’s ability to reposition the PDP for greatness, unity and national relevance.
“I warmly congratulate our new National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN.
His emergence reflects the confidence that leaders and stakeholders have in his experience, integrity, and capacity to move our great party forward.
We are solidly behind him,” Olufade said.
The Ibadan North Chairman also extended heartfelt congratulations to Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the newly elected National Secretary of the PDP, a proud son of Oyo State and former Deputy National Chairman (South).
“Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has always made Oyo State proud. His elevation as National Secretary is well deserved.
I am delighted to celebrate him today, and I am confident that he will deliver excellently in this new national assignment,” he added.
Hon. Olufade did not leave out the entire cohort of newly elected national officers, congratulating them on their victories and urging them to work with unity, loyalty and renewed passion for the progress of the PDP.
“To all our newly elected national executives, I extend my sincere congratulations. May your tenure bring the needed cohesion, strength and success to our beloved party.”
He concluded by reaffirming that the success of the 2025 PDP National Convention has cemented Ibadan’s place as the political heartbeat of the South West, thanks to the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.
