No fewer than eight people were confirmed dead in an accident which involved a truck and a sixteen seater bus close to Celica bus stop on the Ife-Ibadan expressway in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to eye witnesses account, a trailer coming from Lagos was said to have lost balance after a break failure and collided on 16 seater bus coming from Osun State which led to instant death of some of the passengers including the driver of the bus.
They explained that the tragic incident occurred as early 6.30am and unfortunately they had no one to recuse the victims while help came around around 10am after the deaths of many.
Residents of the area however blamed the incident on the fact that the motorists ply one lane as the road is under construction, they urged the government to hasten the completion of the road to avoid needless deaths.
