PHOTOS:Ayo Fatokun Foundation Empowers Youths In Akinyele LG

In a bid to reduce unemployment especially among youths in Akinyele local government, a member representing Akinyele constituency 1 in the Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon Ayounde  Fatokun has trained and empowered Hundreds of youth in the council area.

The Programme which was carried out through Ayo Fatokun foundation was part of the legislators contributions to reduce poverty in the state.

Items presented to graduands include Sewing Machines, Photography Cameras,Hair Dryers and other empowerment materials

The presentation of the materials to some selected trained youths of Akinyele local govt came at a time there was no constituency allowance for both federal and state lawmakers coupled with economic challenges due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Hon Ayo Fatokun within one year of legislative activities has move motions and sponsored bills and well as matters of urgent public importance

This include,Need for government Agencies and other stakeholders to put measures in place to curb students  from roaming the streets during school hours,Oyo state legislature Funds Management Bill,2019 and Oyo state Tourism and Hospitality Bill,2020 just to mention few.

Aside bills and motions Hon Fatokun who is the chairman Parliamentary council has facilitated meaningful 17 projects to his constituency such as on going Rural electrification at Ogunjimi village at ward 2, Installation of Solar street light at Elewure village ward 6 while some other projects were on going.

At the Presentation of Empowerment materials to the 50 trained youth,Hon Ayo Fatokun said his passion is to touch lives positively through vocational skills and empowerment that would make the participants self reliant

He explained that the knowledge acquired through vocational training would go a long way to bring much needed development and employment  to Akinyele residents, adding that this would make them become employers of labour. The Chairman Parliamentary Council noted that the materials presented gulped millions of naira.

While presenting Empowerment materials to the beneficiaries,the Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategy and Political matters Hon Babs Oduyoye,his local government and Chieftaincy Affairs counterpart , Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe commended Hon Ayo Fatokun for impacting meaningfully on the lives of the people through skill acquisition.

They urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of materials received and knowledge acquired from the training to be self reliance.

Speaking on behalf of the local government chairmen in council area,The caretaker chairman Akinyele local government Hon Taoreed Jimoh lauded Hon Ayo Fatokun for giving back to the people of his constituency through youth Empowerment and developmental projects. Hon Taoreed noted that such gesture was the first of it kind in Akinyele. He urged political leaders in Akinyele to emulate Ayo Fatokun.

One of the beneficiaries, Kareem Akeem who spoke with GOALPOACHER NEWS expressed his profound gratitude to Ayo Fatokun Foundation the training and empowerment. He prayed God would continue to bless and uphold the founder, Ayotunde Fatokun.

The youths were trained in advanced skill acquisition programme such as: photography, videography, decorations, events planning, fabric embellishment, fashion design and hair dressing and barbing, among others.

The Programme was attended by Royal Fathers, Political leaders serving state Honourable members and  representatives of youth organizations in Akinyele local government area.
