There was pandemonium at Molete market area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State on Thursday, as hoodlums allegedly attacked an environmental Marshall who was on inspection tour of the market to ascertain the level of compliance to the weekly environmental sanitation which takes place every Thursday.
According to an eye- witness who spoke in confidence to GOALPOACHER NEWS correspondent, he said, the hoodlums said to be sympathetic to one of the traders who flouted the environmental laws and was arrested by the Marshall, only for hoodlums to attack the officer with dangerous objects.
It was further learnt that the officer has been rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Efforts to speak with the chairman Oyo State Enviromental Task Force, ACP Francis Ojomo and the Permanent Secretary, Bashir Olanrewaju at Ministry of Environment proved abortive as the duo fail to pick their calls as at the time of filing this report.
