The Chairman of Tennis Association and Karate in Oyo State, Dr. Mogaji Akin Fagbemi, has again explained his readiness and plans for massive improvement of tennis and karate in the state.
Dr. Fagbemi, who stated this while speaking with the news in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, explained that profiling is one of the ways to improve tennis and karate.
‘Profiling is one of the ways of promoting, showcasing and selling our athletes to the whole world. We have good and talented players in tennis and they are also competent in karate.
In advanced countries, they use the media to help their athletes’ careers. They keep doing profiling work for them to reach a higher level’. He said.
The immediate-past Executive Chairman of Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority OYRTMA,explained that he’s ready to give the two sports a great initiative that will suit a standard in Nigeria and the world at large.
He added that profiles about each tennis player and karate will be dishing out on print, electronic and social media in a way for people to know much about the athletes and to bring them to the limelight.
According to him, a blog which would be basically for Tennis and Karate in Oyo State is part of his plans to boost the sports, urging all sports journalists and sports lovers across the state to also show support more than before by spreading across the state the importance of the two sports.
