The Independence Day Edition of the Public Square Town Hall Meeting is set to hold tomorrow Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Otunba Subomi Balogun Conference Centre, UI Hotels, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, with 12 candidates contesting the 2027 Oyo State governorship election officially invited to participate.
The event, organised by Success FM Ibadan to provide a platform for citizens and political stakeholders to engage directly with gubernatorial candidates on issues affecting the state, will have arrival and registration from 12 noon to 1 p.m., while the Town Hall Meeting is scheduled to commence promptly at 1 p.m.
The candidates officially invited and reminded ahead of the event are Hazeem Gbolarumi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); Barrister Sharafadeen Alli of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM); Chief Adegoboyega Taofeeq Adegoke of the African Democratic Congress (ADC); Comrade Sikiru Bayo Titilola-Sodo of the Action Alliance (AA); Mr. Sola Kareem of the Labour Party (LP); Mr. Kunle Olatunji of the Action Democratic Party (ADP); Mr. Yusuf Akim Adebola of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC); Oloye Saheed Oladele of the African Action Congress (AAC); Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat of Accord; Mogaji Olusegun Agboola of the Social Democratic Party (SDP); and Dr. Yunus Kareem Ayandoye of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
The Town Hall Meeting will be broadcast live on Success 105.3 FM, Ibadan, with live coverage also available on Success FM Live on Facebook and the station’s other social media platforms.
Organisers said entrance into the conference hall will be on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to available space, while adequate security arrangements have been made for the event.
The Independence Day edition is expected to bring together political candidates, citizens, civil society representatives, community leaders and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election, providing an opportunity for direct engagement on issues affecting the people of the state.
