The member representing Afijio State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Oladeji Oparinde, has described the release of the abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area as a testament to Governor Seyi Makinde’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives of residents across Oyo State.
    ‎
‎The lawmaker said the successful return of the victims, who had spent weeks in captivity after being abducted from schools in Ahoro-Esinle community, has brought immense relief to their families and restored hope among residents of the state.
    ‎
‎In a statement issued on Friday, Oparinde commended Governor Makinde for remaining resolute throughout the period of the victims’ captivity, saying the governor demonstrated exceptional leadership by working tirelessly with security agencies to secure their freedom.
    ‎
‎”The safe release of the pupils and teachers is heartwarming. I commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his resilience, steadfastness and commitment to ensuring that the victims returned safely to their loved ones,” Oparinde said.
    ‎
‎He also lauded security operatives and everyone who played a role in the rescue efforts, noting that the achievement underscored the importance of collaboration in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.
    ‎
‎According to the lawmaker, the successful operation has strengthened public confidence in the ability of government and security agencies to respond effectively to security threats when there is sustained cooperation and commitment.
    ‎
‎Oparinde urged residents of Oyo State to continue supporting security agencies by providing useful and timely information that could help prevent criminal activities and enhance public safety.
    ‎
‎He stressed that protecting lives and property remains a collective responsibility, calling on community leaders, traditional institutions and citizens to remain vigilant in the interest of lasting peace and security.
    ‎
‎The Afijio lawmaker expressed optimism that the release of the victims would further strengthen collaboration between government, security agencies and local communities in addressing insecurity and ensuring lasting peace across Oyo State.
