SAfER: Oyo Government To Disburse N340.2M To Livestock Farmers
Oyo State government will on Friday commence disbursement of Three Million and two hundred and seventy thousand naira (N340,270, 000) loan to 1227 beneficiaries as fourth batch of Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery, (SAfER) program, to sustain food security.
Chairman of Agriculture Credit Corporation of Oyo State (ACCOS) Sheikh Taofeek Akeugbagold, revealed this during a media briefing held at the press centre, Governor’s office, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Sheikh Akeugbagold, said, out of 1-billion loan facility, Governor Seyi Makinde earmarked, 1407 peasant farmers have benefited N416. 850 million naira during the initial three disbursements.
While assuring peasant farmers that missed from the previous batches that they will be taken care of in the coming forth, he admonished beneficiaries to be faithful with the funds.
Earlier, General Manager, Agric Credit Corporation, Comrade Emmanuel Ogundiran noted that the loan disbursement with 8 percent interest and application charges, will accommodate Agric trainees, and interested farmers, if the conditions are met.
Recall that the Oyo State government had in December 2023 kicked off disbursement of one billion naira to farmers under the SAfER programme, at designated banks in every zone of the state.
