In a strategic move to strengthen grassroots mobilization and reward party loyalty, the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, on Thursday presented electric motorcycles to the eleven ward chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the council area.

The presentation ceremony, held in Egbeda, underscored the administration’s commitment to enhancing the welfare and operational efficiency of party leaders at the grassroots level.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Oyedele, who also serves as the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State, reiterated the unwavering dedication of the ruling PDP to the well-being of its members and leaders.

He emphasized that the gesture aligns with the broader vision of Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde, whose administration has consistently prioritized the dividends of democracy, reward for hard work, and incentives that ensure the seamless running of party affairs.

According to him, the distribution of the electric motorcycles is not only a demonstration of appreciation but also a practical step towards improving mobility and efficiency among ward executives, who play critical roles in grassroots political coordination.

Hon. Oyedele further noted that with the provision of these motorcycles, Egbeda Local Government has once again reinforced its readiness and strategic positioning for future electoral victories.

“This initiative is part of our broader plan to empower our structures at the grassroots. With improved mobility, our ward chairmen will be better equipped to carry out their responsibilities, ensuring that our party remains strong, united, and prepared for the tasks ahead,” he said.

Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of beneficiaries, the PDP Ward 6 Chairman, Ogundiran Kamal, expressed profound appreciation to the council chairman and the state leadership of the party, particularly Governor Seyi Makinde, for what he described as a thoughtful and impactful intervention.

He noted that the gesture would significantly ease the burden of movement for party leaders, thereby enhancing their productivity and effectiveness in managing party activities across the wards.

“This support will go a long way in boosting our morale and strengthening our commitment to the party. We are grateful for this recognition and pledge our continued loyalty and dedication,” he stated.

The event was attended by the Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Oladepo Ibrahim (popularly known as O’ Simple), alongside party leaders, stakeholders, and other key figures within the PDP in the council area.

The initiative further reflects the Makinde-led administration’s sustained efforts to consolidate party unity, empower loyal members, and maintain a strong grassroots presence across Oyo State.
