A prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State and the immediate past Executive Chairman of Irepo Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdulateef Sulaimana Adediran, popularly known as Santana, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Saka Adegbite Balogun on his recent conferment as the High Chief Balogun of Ogbomosholand.
The highly revered title was conferred upon Dr. Balogun by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosholand, in recognition of his unwavering service, statesmanship, and commitment to the progress of Oyo State.
In his congratulatory statement, Alh. Santana who is also the Saraki of Kisiland, described the honour as “richly deserved and most fitting,” praising Dr. Balogun, the current Chairman of the Oyo State Elders’ Council, for his distinguished career in public service, dedication to communal development, and invaluable contributions to governance and nation-building.
“This prestigious recognition is a testament to Baba Saka Balogun’s lifelong dedication to excellence, justice, and selfless leadership,” Santana said. “As a respected elder, his wisdom, humility, and integrity have served as a moral compass for our political and traditional institutions.”
Alh. Santana also commended His Imperial Majesty, the Soun of Ogbomosholand, for his foresight and commitment to upholding the cultural and moral fabric of the land through the conferment of titles on deserving sons of the soil.
“I must commend His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, for finding Baba Saka Balogun worthy of this revered title. It reflects the depth of the Soun’s wisdom and his dedication to honouring excellence and preserving the dignity of our traditions,” he stated.
Furthermore, Santana attributed the growing recognition of exemplary leaders in Oyo State to the transformative leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, whose administration, he said, has consistently championed merit, inclusiveness, and good governance.
“Governor Makinde has created an atmosphere where integrity and service are recognised and celebrated. The honour bestowed on Dr. Balogun is, without doubt, a reflection of the values the governor embodies and promotes across our dear state,” he added.
He prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and long life for the newly installed High Chief Balogun, urging him to continue being a beacon of hope, tradition, and principled leadership.
