Senator Monsurat Sunmonu expresses gratitude to God over the rescued Oriire Pupils; Commends Gallant Security Agencies, Governor Seyi Makinde and President Tinubu
The 10th July, 2026, was a moment of joy and relief to all Nigerians and particularly, the good People of Oyo State over the rescue of teachers and Pupils abducted by Kidnappers for 57 days in captivity.
In a press statement signed by Hon Sakiru Ojo on her behalf and made available to the Press. The former Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty Allah for the successful rescue Operation by our Gallant Military Officers, Nigeria Air Force, Nigeria Police, DSS, Civil Defense Corps, Amotekun, The Hunters and others. She further extended condolences to the families of the Security Agencies who died during the rescue operations. May their gentle souls rest in perfect peace.
Senator Sunmonu also expressed a sober sympathy to the family of Late Michael Oyedokun who paid a Supreme price in the course of this abduction. May God give the family and good people of Oyo State, the fortitude to bear the great loss.
Alhaja Sunmonu Aduke also appreciated the proactiveness, resolute, courage and commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde in the last 58 days, that, he was never distracted despite challenges until the successful end. Senator Sunmonu praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his steadfastness and for always remain focused in the discharge of his duties just like the Covid-19 Period and this particular trying period; but thank God, he has overcome all the challenges.
She also extended wholesome appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the total support to the Oyo State Government and Security Agencies.
Senator Sunmonu remarked as a mother, that, it is a big psychological trauma for any mother or child found themselves in such situation but with the fervent prayers, Almighty Allah had seen us through the challenges. She enjoined the Oyo State Government and The Federal Government to give deserved and best medical attention and support to the affected people.
