The Chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Muslim Wing, Sheik Atere, has expressed his deepest sympathies to Governor Seyi Makinde and the Makinde family following the passing of Engineer Sunday Makinde, the governor’s elder brother.

In a heartfelt statement, Sheik Atere emphasised the resilience of Governor Makinde during this time of grief, saying,”Governor Seyi Makinde has always been a beacon of hope and progress for our community. His unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Oyo State is a testament to his integrity and vision.”

Reflecting on the deceased, Sheik Atere acknowledged his contributions to the community. “While we mourn Engineer Sunday Makinde’s transition, we must also recognise the values of service and dedication he upheld. He was a man of integrity who believed in the betterment of society.”

“In this difficult time, it is crucial that we rally around our governor, who embodies the spirit of leadership and compassion. His ability to guide us through adversity is what will help our community heal,” Sheik Atere urged.

He called for unity among the people of Oyo State, stressing the importance of supporting Governor Makinde.

“Let us come together to uplift the Makinde family and show our solidarity. As we honour Engineer Sunday Makinde’s memory, we must also continue to support the vision of progress that Governor Seyi Makinde represents.”

Sheik Atere, however, encouraged the community to reflect on the principles of service and compassion that both Engineer Makinde and Governor Makinde embodied.
