On the sidelines of Agrofood Nigeria 2026, Dr. Debo Akande, Executive Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Agribusiness and International Cooperation Development and Director-General of OYSADA, held a strategic meeting with Stijn van der Heijden, Project Manager International at Delphy; Nene Barry, Head of Dutch Desk at Access Bank; and Oluwaseun Ojambati, Senior Agricultural Policy Advisor at the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The meeting focused on exploring partnerships with Delphy to support the development of the Oyo State Wholesale Market.

Dr. Akande highlighted the state’s initiatives to complement the market and foster a conducive environment for private sector investment.

Key projects include the upgrading of the airport to international status, the circular road linking the wholesale market to the northern gate and Lagos, the train station, the dry port, agribusiness industrial hubs, and other rural infrastructure developments.

Stijn van der Heijden expressed optimism about the partnership and identified areas where Delphy can provide technical support, including linkages to other Dutch investors.

The engagement laid the foundation for strategic collaborations to strengthen Oyo State Wholesale Market and enhance its investment appeal.
