The Oyo State Government, under the visionary leadership of Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde, has successfully implemented a Solar Hybrid Mini-Grid in the Inukan Local Council Development Area, marking a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions.

This innovative project combines solar and diesel power to provide a reliable and continuous energy supply, addressing the community’s long-standing power challenges.

For years, residents of Inukan relied on candles, lanterns, and costly generators, which significantly impacted their quality of life and economic activities.

The financial burden of fuel and generator maintenance made electricity inaccessible for many, stifling potential development and prosperity.

With the installation of the Solar Hybrid Mini-Grid, these challenges have been effectively addressed.

The hybrid system, featuring a 100kw solar panel and a 100kva diesel generator, ensures a steady and sustainable power supply.

This advancement has revolutionized daily life in the community. Businesses can now operate efficiently, schools offer better learning environments, and households enjoy uninterrupted power.

The socio-economic benefits of this project are evident, as it fosters a conducive environment for growth and development.

Commissioner for Energy, Seun Ashamu, highlighted the broader impact of this initiative, noting that similar mini-grids have been established in various communities across the state.

These installations are part of a comprehensive strategy to promote renewable energy and improve living conditions in rural and underserved areas.

This project exemplifies the proactive measures taken by the Oyo State Government to enhance the quality of life for its citizens.

Governor Makinde’s commitment to sustainable development is commendable, setting a model for other states to follow.

His vision, combined with the diligent efforts of the state’s energy team, led by Commissioner Ashamu, deserves praise for driving this innovative project.

The Solar Hybrid Mini-Grid is a testament to the potential of renewable energy solutions in transforming communities and promoting socio-economic development.
