THE RAIN IS COMING (Reflections on Grace and Greatness)

THE RAIN IS COMING (Reflections on Grace and Greatness)

My mother used to cook beans.
Before she began, she would carefully pick through them —
separating the good ones from the bad,
throwing the rejected ones into the backyard,
    believing they had no use.

But one day, the heavens opened.
The rain came, soaking the earth with mercy.
And those rejected beans — forgotten and cast aside —
    began to sprout.
Tiny shoots broke through the soil,
    stretching towards the light,
    growing strong and green,
until they stood taller and fairer
than the ones she had once chosen.

    Soon, my mother found herself
harvesting from the same spot she had once despised.
She learned that what we call rejection
is often just redirection in disguise —
    a pause before purpose,
    a test before testimony.

So, when people throw you aside,
when they doubt your worth or mock your dream,
    don’t despair.
    Hold on.
    The rain is coming.
    And when it does,
    your hidden strength will bloom,
and even those who once dismissed you
will return to celebrate your rise.

That is the story of CHIEF JUBRIL DOTUN SANUSI (JDS) —
a man who has walked through rejection and risen through resilience.
A man who turned every drop of life’s rain
into seeds of vision, leadership, and empowerment.

    JDS reminds us that greatness doesn’t begin in comfort;
it begins in the soil of trials and the storms of misunderstanding.
He stands today as a testimony
that what people throw away, God can raise again —stronger, brighter, and better.

CHIEF JUBRIL DOTUN SANUSI (JDS) is the rain that has come watering dreams, reviving hope,
and proving that destiny, once awakened,
    can never be denied.

The rain came for JDS — and through him, it continues to fall for others.
