President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday held a meeting with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting, which was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The meeting took place in the president’s office and was captured in official photographs released by the State House.
Although details of the discussions are not officially disclosed at press time, the high-level engagement is believed to have focused on issues of national development, traditional institution reforms, security, and socio-economic advancement, particularly as they affect Oyo State and the South-West region, as well as the creation of Ibadan State.
The visit underscores the continued importance of traditional rulers in Nigeria’s governance structure, especially in fostering peace, unity, grassroots development, and cultural preservation.
The Olubadan, as the paramount ruler of Ibadanland, plays a critical role in mobilising community support for government policies and promoting harmonious coexistence.
The meeting further reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to sustained dialogue with traditional institutions as strategic partners in nation-building, conflict resolution, and grassroots development initiatives.
