There was great enthusiasm in Òyó East Local Government today as prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) graced the party’s general meeting in grand style.

The event, held at the usual venue of the meeting, witnessed the presence of Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola, the Executive Chairman of Òyó East Local Government; Hon. Arowosaye, a former Chairman of Òyó East; and Hon. Tirimisiy, the Southwest Ex-Officio member of the PDP, Hon Sakirudeen Ojo, former party chairman, Hon Akin Ejalonibu

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as party members and loyalists trooped out in large numbers to welcome the leaders, demonstrating renewed confidence in the party’s unity and strength ahead of the 2025 elections.

In his remarks, the Òyó East PDP Chairman, Hon. Rasheed Kareem, expressed deep joy and satisfaction over the rekindled spirit of togetherness among party members. He noted that the presence of these key figures symbolized the return of peace and harmony within the party’s fold, describing it as a new dawn for Òyó East PDP.

Hon. Arowosaye, addressing the gathering, commended the commitment and resilience of party members and assured them that the PDP is well-positioned to record resounding victory in the forthcoming 2025 elections. He urged members to remain steadfast and continue to promote unity, which he described as the bedrock of political success.

In his own speech, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola (popularly known as Omi Àánú) commended Hon. Arowosaye’s style of politics, which he described as inclusive and mature. He emphasized that the strength of the PDP in Òyó East lies in its unity and collective vision.

Hon. Oluokun reiterated his unwavering commitment to the progress and unity of the PDP, assuring all members that his administration will continue to work in harmony with all stakeholders to ensure the party’s dominance in the local government and beyond.

Hon. Tirimisiy, in his brief address, also praised the leadership qualities displayed by both current and past leaders of Òyó East PDP, stressing the importance of solidarity and discipline as the party prepares for future challenges.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with chants of victory and solidarity echoing across the venue as party members pledged renewed loyalty and cooperation toward sustaining PDP’s winning spirit in Òyó East.
