Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has promised that he would redouble his efforts and energy in serving the people of the state till 2027.
The governor made the promise during his 56th birthday celebration held at the Fasola Farms Estate, Fasola, Oyo.
In his remarks, Governor Makinde appreciated the support he has been enjoying from his family members, and the people of Oyo state since he took the mantle of leadership of the state, saying that the choice of Fasola Farms Estate, Oyo for his birthday celebration was to show that every zone of the state is important to his administration.
Having celebrated his birthday in Oke Ogun zone in the past years, governor Makinde also promised that Ogbomoso zone, Ibarapa, and Ibadan zone of the state, would host his subsequent Birthday Celebrations in the coming years
While admonishing people to be cheerful givers in the spirit of Christmas, Governor Makinde expressed optimism that the year 2024 shall be a rewarding and prosperous year for the people of the state.
Some of the well wishers who graced the colourful event extolled the virtues of the state governor, describing him as an outstanding and magnanimous leader, whose steps should be followed.
Other highlights of the programme were special prayers for the celebrant, cutting of the birthday cake and presentation of gifts.
