Ahead of the April 27th Local Government Election in Oyo state, the Labour Party in Oyo East LG has thrown its weight behind the candidacy of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola.
Mr Akinsola Moshood, the Labour Party chairman disclosed the decision at a meeting organised today, Tuesday 12th April, 2024 at his Jabata residence with the Oluokun/Waspha campaign council.
Speaking further, he stated that the endorsement of the PDP Chairmanship candidate was as a result of his popularity, the readiness of the masses to vote for him across units, ward as well his father’s antecedents within Oyo were enough to back him and collapse the structure of labor party for the PDP frontline people’s choice, Hon Oluokun Peter Olusola.
Also, the secretary of the party, Mr Anie Nicholas, and Mrs. Mustapha Silifat, a woman leader expressed their commitment and readiness to form an alliance with the PDP and make sure Oluokun/Waspha Candidature is achievable with hundred percent votes
Leader Eburuike, while addressing the gathering saluted them for their courage in holding the labor party strongly for so long. He appeals to them that no stone will be left untouched when it’s time for the dividends of democracy.
Agba Rasheed, the Campaign DG acknowledged them for the total support they repose in them and urged them to fulfill their promise of voting massively for the PDP candidates
In addition, Mr. Sunday Okoli, the party vice chairman reiterated his commitment towards the coming election and urged the Campaign Council and the candidates that they’re just servants to their people and that they’ll still have to reveal all the discussions to their people and urged them not to renege on their promises after the election.
