Video: Suspected Yoruba Nation Agitators Who Ambushed OYSIEC Officials in Ibarapa North Arrested – Council Boss

 

Security operatives on Saturday arrested at least 3 suspected Yoruba Nation agitators in Ayete, Ibarapa North local government area of Oyo State.

This was made known to Goalpoacher News by the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North local government, Hon Lateef Akorede.

According to Hon Akorede, the suspected Yoruba agitators on Saturday reportedly attacked officials of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) who were conveying voting materials to various polling units in Ayete and its environs.

They were alleged to have ambushed OYSIEC officials and hijacked election materials from them and was about carting them away when officers of the Nigeria Police Force the suspects, arrested them.

“On Thursday we received an intelligent report that some strange faces have been parading Ayete community.

“We alerted security operatives about the report we got.

“Today (Saturday), when local government elections were about to commence, the suspected Yoruba Nation agitators ambushed OYSIEC officials and hijacked election materials from them.

“Officers of the Nigeria Police Force swung into action swiftly and got them arrested.

“Dangerous weapons and charms were recovered from them and they had since been detained by the Police.”
