The Executive Chairman of the Corporation, Hon. Elias Adeojo made this clarification in a release from his office today.

Hon.Adeojo emphasized that the Government of Governor Seyi Makinde is working tirelessly to bring succour to the residents of Ibadan and Oyo State at large in the area of provision of potable water.

He stated that the ongoing urban renewal of the government on road construction and rehabilitation in some areas of Ibadan metropolis is unavoidably necessary for the Corporation to temporarily shut down water supply and relocate some of its service pipes in those areas.

The Chairman posited that potable water released in some parts of Ibadan where there are on-going road construction became a waste but in order not to waste government resources in the treatment of water necessitated partial shut down of the Corporation’s service.

The affected areas in Ibadan are Molete-Idi odo-Challenge,Agbowo-UI,New/old Bodija,NTA-Ikolaba-Custom road and Oranyan-Labo-Eleta.

The Chairman therefore assured the residents of Ibadan of a robust service as soon as the road networks are completed. He added that the Engineers of the Corporation are working round the clock to rectify the situation with the cooperation of the contractors handling the various road projects.

He urged contractors handling road construction and rehabilitation in the capital to always work in tandem with Oyo Water Corporation to avoid incessant damage of pipes that supply potable water to residents.
