We’ll strengthen security in Oorelope, LG boss says after meeting with stakeholders
The Executive Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Akeem Raheem, has expressed the readiness of his administration to strengthen the security architecture in the local government.
He maintained that the government would achieve the focus by ensuring a seamless relationship between the state and non-state actors, adding that the voluntary policing initiative of the Governor ‘Seyi Makinde administration will be vigorously pursued in the local government.
Raheem stated these during a security meeting held at the local government headquarters, Igboho, which had in attendance security chiefs and members of the Oorelope Local Government Traditional Council headed by the Alepata of Igboholand, Oba Joel Olalere Olawuwo.
Speaking during the meeting, the local government chairman noted that the operations of the police and the local vigilantes will be synergised in order to improve security and bring about a more effective approach to securing the local government.
He appreciated the traditional council and the security agencies for their support since his administration started in May 2021, assuring that the government of Governor Makinde will leave no stone unturned in securing the state.
The chairman also admonished residents of the local government to be more vigilant and security-conscious, adding that they should always report suspicious movements and activities in their environments.
Also speaking, the Alepata of Igboholand, who is the permanent chairman of the traditional council, expressed the readiness of the traditional rulers to work hand in hand with the council chairman to secure the local government.
Uniformed personnel gave brief situation reports on the security architecture of the local government, promising to all do their best to secure the local government.
