What Makinde Discussed With Canadian High Commissioner To Nigeria
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday, met with the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Nicolas Simard.
Recall that the Canadian Government recently partnered with Oyo State government on healthcare during the free fistula repair campaign in the state.
The governor made this known on his official facebook account on Monday evening.
He said: “This morning, we met with the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Nicolas Simard. We discussed the four pillars of our administration; education, healthcare, the economy and security.
“The Canadian Government recently partnered with our government on healthcare during the free fistula repair campaign.
“We also talked about gender equality – the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Bill recently passed into law. I outlined how our administration will support those who are victims of violence to come forward and report to the authorities so the cases can be prosecuted.
“On youth engagement, I said the End SARS protests was a wake-up call to ensure that we channel resources towards the protection and development of our young people. I talked about the ways our government is addressing the issue including the judicial panel and the fund for entrepreneurs.”
