The Director-General of the Civil Society Organisation on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative (CSCHEI), Kunle Yusuff, MON, has commended the appointment and diplomatic engagement of Ambassador Kayode Aree as Nigeria’s envoy to the United States of America.

‎In a statement issued on behalf of the National Leadership of Accredited Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and Community Based Organisations (CBOs) under the coordination of CSCHEI, a United Nations recognised platform promoting accredited CSOs and CBOs in Nigeria, Yusuff described the appointment as a strategic move toward strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United States.

‎According to him, the decision by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to appoint a seasoned security, intelligence, and diplomatic expert demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives and deepening cooperation with the United States in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, security, oil and gas, industry, and aviation.

‎CSCHEI also appreciated the Government of the United States for accepting Ambassador Kayode Aree and supporting the commencement of his diplomatic mission.

‎The organisation noted that its development partner, Africa United Congress USA, had affirmed the Ambassador’s professional competence, integrity, and diplomatic experience as valuable assets in promoting Nigeria’s interests in Washington.

‎Yusuff further stated that Ambassador Kayode Aree’s official resumption and reception by President Donald Trump reflect a renewed commitment to development focused diplomacy between both countries.

‎He expressed optimism that the development would create greater opportunities for collaboration among US based international NGOs, development partners, and accredited CSOs, CBOs, and NGOs operating in Nigeria.

‎He added that the global diplomatic community witnessed the official presentation at the Oval Office of the White House on Thursday, 21 May, describing Ambassador Aree’s diplomatic capacity and performance as commendable and a source of pride for accredited civil society and community based organisations in Nigeria.
