    …Receives Backlash from Netizens

Political developments within the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have continued to generate attention following recent social media commentary and engagements involving key party figures ahead of the anticipated official governorship declaration.
    ‎
‎A Facebook post by Adesoji Adedeji, who is the brother of the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) Zacch Adedeji, has stirred political discussion after he referenced Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli in a manner that has been interpreted as indicating growing alignment within the party.
    ‎
‎In the post, Adedeji initially described Alli as the “APC governorship candidate in Oyo state” while highlighting a political visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, alongside other APC stakeholders in the state.
    ‎
‎The original post on Facebook read:
    ‎
‎“We team together with Senator Sarafadeen Alli, PhD. The APC governorship candidate in Oyo state to paid homage visit to his Imperial Majesty, Oba Adewolu Rasheed Ladoja, alongside notable political leaders of Oyo State APC in attendance.”
    ‎
‎However, after about thirty minutes following backlash from netizens, the post was later edited, with a change in the description of Alli’s political status. The revised version read:
    ‎
‎“We team together with Senator Sarafadeen Alli, PhD. The APC governorship aspirant in Oyo state to paid homage visit to his Imperial Majesty, Oba Adewolu Rasheed Ladoja, alongside notable political leaders of Oyo State APC in attendance.”
    ‎
‎The visit to the traditional ruler is understood to be part of ongoing consultations and political engagements within the party ahead of the next electoral cycle.
    ‎
‎Political momentum around the development has further increased following claims that Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli will declare his governorship ambition in Oyo State within the next 48 hours, a development that has heightened anticipation among party supporters and political observers across the state.
    ‎
‎Despite this, the post has intensified speculation around Alli’s governorship ambition, with key stakeholders suggesting that it reflects growing momentum within certain blocs of the APC in Oyo State.
    ‎
‎Meanwhile, attention has also turned to possible internal negotiations within the party, with speculation suggesting that Adesoji Adedeji could be considered a potential deputy governorship arrangement.
    ‎
‎As political activities continue ahead of the expected official declaration, political observers, even within the ruling party, say the developments reflect early positioning and lobbying among stakeholders rather than finalized party decisions.
    ‎
‎For now, the reported governorship ambition of Senator Alli is clear while the circulating discussions around possible running mate arrangements remain part of internal political speculation within the Oyo APC.
