Akinyele South LCDA Residents Agog as Council Chair Kazeem Adekunle Empowers Artisans, Traders
About one hundred artisans, traders and residents of Akinyele South Local council Development Area have been empowered by the caretaker chairman of the the council, Hon Kazeem Adekunle Ahmed.
At an elaborate event on held on Wednesday, the performing chairman said that similar events had taken place this year.
The Chairman who is also aspiring to contest the upcoming Local Government election in Akinyele urged public officials to make the empowerment of those who elected them a priority.
“About a hundred people are involved in this empowerment and as you can see, they are into different groups. As I have said, this is a programme that I think should takes place a minimum of three times in a year,” he said.
Some of the beneficiaries appreciated Hon Kazeem and pledged their support for him when the need arises.
Some of the items distributed include sewing machines, grinding machines, gas cylinders, generating sets, sprayers, clippers. Set of coolers, blenders and hairdressing dryers among others. However, about fifty people got cash empowerment to start small scale businesses.
