The Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan North local government, Hon Adeniyi Akanbi, has described governor Abiodun Oluwaseyi Makinde as a formidable political force who has brought changes to the political landscape of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
In a press statement issued in Ibadan today, Adeniyi said that the entire Ibadan North local government was using the opportunity to salute his boss, Governor Seyi Makinde for being a great leader who has attained milestones in Nigeria.
Akanbi listed Makinde’s personal and professional achievements.
“Makinde means many things to many people but there are certain things that everyone agrees about him: a political think-thank, master strategist, promoter of politics of inclusion, political futurist and fearless activist and top politician per excellence.
“His life is packed with personal achievements and involvements as a governor of Oyo state, mentor of successful leaders.”
Akanbi recalled that when Makinde became the governor of Oyo State state in 2019, the state was financially incapacitated. However, Makinde’s knowledge of public finance changed the fortune of Oyo State that we witness today.
“There is no denying the fact that Makinde is a rare breed politician, patriot and a true democrat. Through his political efforts and strategies, progressive politics for which the South West was noted now dominates the realm.
“No doubt, the accounts of modern Nigerian political evolution would not be complete without ample recognition of the roles of this selfless political leader.”
