Makinde Tasks Residents On The Supply Of Information to Tackle Insecurity in Oyo
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has urged the people and residents of the state to use their areas of influence to support the government in the fight against all forms of insecurity in the state.
He charged the people as a matter of necessity to make information in their domains available to help the government arrest the security situation in the state.
Governor Makinde gave the charge on Sunday at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Aremo, Ibadan, during a special service organized in commemorating the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.
Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, Governor Makinde also at the event harped on the need for people to sustain the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic by complying with the given protocols.
Earlier in his sermon, the Provost, Cathedral of St. Peters, Aremo, Ibadan, Very Reverend Wale Adebiyi who spoke on the theme “Lack of Patriotism, the bane of Nigerian Development” with text from Esther 9:27-28 maintained that until Nigerian become more patriotic to the nation than their region, the development will remain a challenge for the country.
Personalities who attended the service included the General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Major-General Anthony Omozoje; Commander 2 Division, Garrison Nigerian Army, Brigadier-General Adesoji Ogunsugba; Chairman Nigerian Legion, Oyo State Command, Deacon Micheal Fajimi, military officers, members of paramilitary organizations and many top government officials.
The insecurity of the state could be best tackled when every hands are on desk.
Individual citizen must wake up to the challenge and exposes the hidden figures behind the menace in Oyo state.
