OYRTMA PARTNERS ILAJI HOTEL & SPORTS RESORT TO TACKLE PERENNIAL GRIDLOCK AT ONA-ARA LGA
The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) is partnering the Management of Ilaji Hotels & Sport Resorts, Akanran, Ibadan to tackle the perennial traffic gridlock experienced in major parts of Ona-Ara Local Government Area of the State.
This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman of the Authority, Mogaji (Dr.) Akin Fagbemi after a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the Resort, Engr. Dotun Sanusi and the Caretaker Chairman, Ona-Ara Local Government Area Alhaji Musbau Sanusi Adesina.
Dr. Fagbemi who was represented at the meeting by a delegation of OYRTMA Officers and Men led by the Ona-Ara Area Commander, Comd. Saheed Babalola said “the Authority is fully aware of the traffic situation in Ona-Ara axis of Ibadan Metropolis and it’s deeply concerned. In recent past, we have deployed more men and utility vehicles to the area with significant results which must be consolidated by engaging relevant stakeholders in the area to further sensitize motorists, local traders and business owners to ensure sustainability and further ease traffic flow”, the statement read.
He also revealed that ‘the Ona-Ara Command of the Authority is ready to partner with relevant bodies in Ilaji, Akanran and its environs particularly Amuloko in eliminating gridlock and obstructions to free vehicular movement’.
The Ilaji Hotel boss, Dr. Sanusi while appreciating the visit disclosed that he is equally ready to join hands with the Authority to make lives easier for road users in the area. In his words, “The recent efficacy in the activities and operations of OYRTMA is worth commendation. We can only advice the men not to renege but double efforts to ease the traffic situation across the State”, he said.
Speaking further, he said “we would encourage our Special Traffic Control Task-force, the Amotekun Corps and other relevant outfits in this environment to synergize with OYRTMA for proper coordination and effectiveness in traffic management. On behalf of the Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, I thank you very much for this courtesy call and looking forward to a better operational performance under the leadership of Mogaji Akin Fagbemi”, he concluded.
