The Director-General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has announced a special empowerment initiative to celebrate his 60th birthday, pledging financial support for 60 small businesses and social entrepreneurs across Oyo State.
In a statement personally signed and issued on Thursday, Tegbe said the initiative, to be executed through the Tegbe Foundation, reflects his belief that true impact is measured by creating opportunities for others to grow and succeed.
“As I mark my 60th birthday, I am reminded that true impact lies in creating opportunities for others to grow and thrive,” he said.
As part of the programme, selected beneficiaries will receive grants ranging from ₦100,000 to ₦500,000 to help expand their ventures and strengthen their contributions to their communities.
The scheme is targeted at hardworking and enterprising individuals, including artisans, traders, small business owners, and social entrepreneurs who are making meaningful impacts in Oyo State.
Tegbe called on members of the public to nominate deserving candidates for the grants, stressing that the gesture is aimed at empowering those who are building sustainable livelihoods and driving grassroots development.
“We are looking out for artisans, traders, small business owners and social entrepreneurs who are building, creating, and contributing meaningfully to their communities,” he added.
Interested persons can submit nominations through the designated portal at bit.ly/JTat60.
The nomination process will close on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
The initiative, which blends personal celebration with social impact, is aimed at strengthening local enterprise and expanding economic opportunities at the grassroots level across Oyo State.
